Job Description:
- Custom Garment Creation: Design, cut, and sew custom garments to meet client specifications, ensuring a perfect fit and exceptional craftsmanship.
- Fabric Expertise: Work with a wide range of luxurious fabrics, including silk, velvet, cashmere, and lace, maintaining the highest standards of quality and care.
- Alterations and Repairs: Perform precise alterations and repairs on high-end clothing, including bridal wear, evening gowns, and tailored suits.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Operate and maintain sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment in excellent condition to ensure precision and efficiency.
- This position can be partially remote depending on projects assigned. Otherwise, the working location with Andre Soriano will be in Occoquan, VA at the store location.
Job Description:
- Design Assistance: Support the fashion designer in creating and developing designs if required in addition to researching current fashion trends.
- Fabric and Material Selection: Assist in sourcing and organizing fabrics, trims, and other materials, ensuring alignment with the designer’s vision.
- Pattern Work: Assist with pattern drafting, alterations, and cutting, gaining hands-on experience in garment construction techniques.
- Studio Organization: Maintain the studio space by organizing supplies, managing inventory, and ensuring a clean and functional workspace.
- Client and Team Collaboration: Participate in fittings, take notes, and help implement changes based on client feedback or the designer’s direction.
- Event and Show Prep: Contribute to the preparation of fashion shows, photoshoots, or client presentations by organizing garments, styling looks, or assisting backstage.
- Administrative Support: Help with scheduling, emailing, and documenting processes to ensure smooth daily operations in the studio.
- Learning Opportunity: Shadow the fashion designer and team to gain insights into the design and production process, from initial concept to finished product.
